Dymista nasal spray is a type of treatment used to relieve seasonal allergy symptoms of the nose and control inflammatory response from allergic rhinitis.
When your nose is exposed to allergens such as dust, animal skin flakes, mold, and pollen, histamine is released causing swelling, irritation, and inflammation of the nose cell lining.
How does dymista nasal spray work?
Dymista nasal spray contains an antihistamine and corticosteroid assuring you of fast relief and anti-inflammatory effect. Dymista contains 2 active ingredients; Azelastine (137 mg) and Fluticasone ( 50 mcg) per dose.
Azelastine belongs to antihistamine medicines. During an allergic reaction, your body responds by producing histamine, an antihistamine group of medicines that prevents the effects of histamine on your body.
Azelastine reduces the symptoms of allergic rhinitis. Fluticasone belongs to corticosteroid medicines that work by reducing inflammation caused by allergens.
How to use dymista nasal spray?
Adults and adolescents the age of 12 years and above should take a dose of one spray per nostril in the morning and evening. Below is a step-by-step guide on how to use Dymista Nasal Spray:
- Shake your Dymista nasal spray bottle gently for 5 seconds
- Clear your nostrils by clearing your nose
- Close one of the nostrils with your finger
- Tilt your head downwards
- Hold the nasal spray upright and insert the tip of the spray into the open nostril
- Press down the nasal spray once and sniff gently at the same time
- Breath out through your mouth
- Repeat the same procedure to the other nostril
- To prevent the medicine from getting into your throat, breathe in gently without tilting your head backward.

❌Who should not use dymista nasal spray?
It's important to always consult your healthcare provider before buying Dymista. The prescriber will help you understand your symptoms and the right dosage for you. Below is a list of conditions that limit you from using Dymista spray.
- You should not use Dymista nasal spray If you are allergic to azelastine and fluticasone. Fluticasone contains active ingredients that lower the number of blood vessels that are responsible for helping your body fight infections.
- If you are suffering from glaucoma, diabetes, tuberculosis, soars in your nose, or had a recent nose surgery you should first consult your pharmacist.
Disposal and storage.

Dosage
First blow your nose then remove the protective cap from the product. Before the first use, press the pump several times until you get an even spray.
Spray one spray into each nostril keeping your head upright, do not tilt your head back. Wipe the nozzle and replace the protective cap.
This should be done once in the morning and once in the evening. Do not exceed the recommended dose.
