How does FreeStyle Libre 2 work?
The FreeStyle Libre 2 Sensor is designed to be positioned on the back of your upper arm. The FreeStyle Libre Reader (sold separately) is placed over the sensor to get a reading from it.
It uses a straightforward connection to validate the reading, much like how a contactless credit or debit card works.
It also functions well while being covered by clothing. As long as nothing knocks the sensor off of the arm, it can remain on for up to 14 days.
Showering or bathing is safe because the FreeStyle Libre 2 Sensor is water resistant, however extra caution might be needed.
Applying the FreeStyle Libre 2 Sensor
Peel the cover fully off to expose the sensor pack. Remove the cap from the sensor applicator and set the cap aside.

How is the FreeStyle Libre 2 Sensor different from the FreeStyle Libre Sensor?
The FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor is the next generation of the original FreeStyle Libre sensor. For patients who require them, it provides optional glucose alarms. The FreeStyle Libre 2 system makes it possible to use optional alarms by using bluetooth technology.
By providing customizable alarms for low glucose and high glucose, the FreeStyle Libre 2 system offers a simple, user-friendly alarm experience.
Additionally, it features a technological function that alerts the user in the event of a signal loss, such as when the sensor is unable to connect to the reader.
Depending on the user's preferences, the system will either vibrate or play a sound to notify them. The user can continue to scan their FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor as often as desired to view their eight-hour history, trends, and glucose reading.
The user can act on the information to take the necessary actions as needed when it comes to decisions about medication or food based on the information presented. If someone does not want the alarms, they can opt to leave them off so that they are not interrupted.
How long is the life of each sensor?
Each Libre 2 sensor lasts for 14 days while maintaining good accuracy over the course of two weeks.
How precise is Libre 2's system?
When taking into account mean absolute relative difference (MARD), which is a performance indicator for CGM systems, the Libre 2 system has been found to be incredibly accurate.

Can children use this glucose monitoring device?
Children four years old and older can use the FreeStyle Libre 2 glucose monitoring device.
When shouldn't you use this product?
When using an automatic insulin dosing system (AID), such as a closed loop or insulin suspend system, you shouldn't use the FreeStyle Libre 2 system.
While using this product, you shouldn't consume more than 500mg of vitamin C daily because the supplement may cause your sensor readings to appear higher than they actually are.
