Imigran contains an active ingredient called sumatriptan, which treats migraines. This drug belongs to a class known as triptans. Triptans work by constricting the widened blood vessels that cause migraine, resulting in alleviation of migraine pain and symptoms. Imigran is generally a well tolerated triptan and is available in a variety of dosage forms such as tablet, nasal spray or injection.

Dosage
Imigran nasal spray should be used as soon as you feel your migraine start. To take Imigran nasal spray you have to use a single spray in a single nostril and it should work within 15 minutes.
FAQ
What is the difference between Imigran and Sumatriptan?
Imigran is the branded version. Sumatriptan is the generic version. Both contain the same active ingredient, sumatriptan, so both are medically equivalent but sumatriptan generic is available at a much lower cost.
How long does it take to work?
Between 30 to 60 minutes.
How long does it last?
Approximately 2 hours.
Can I take Sumatriptan with alcohol?
Sumatriptan may cause drowsiness or dizziness, therefore alcohol is not recommended as it could make the side effects worse.
