Rizatriptan Orodispersible

Dosage

• Take 5 mg or 10 mg at the first sign of a migraine.
• If needed, take another dose after at least 2 hours if the migraine returns.
• Maximum in 24 hours: 20 mg total (2 doses of 10mg max).
• If taking propranolol or have liver or kidney problems: Use 5 mg dose. Leave a 2 hour gap between taking propranolol and rizatriptan.
• Do not exceed the daily limit or use for prevention.

Rizatriptan tablets are used to treat migraine attacks. Take Rizatriptan tablets as soon as possible after your migraine headache has started. Do not use it to prevent an attack.

Rizatriptan tablets (rizatriptan benzoate) dissolve in the mouth.

• Open the Rizatriptan tablets blister pack with dry hands
• The orodispersible tablet should be placed on your tongue, where it dissolves and can be swallowed with the saliva.
• The orodispersible tablets can be used in situations in which liquids are not available, or where there are swallowing difficulties. They are also a good option for those suffering from nausea and vomiting where other forms are difficult to keep in.
