Warticon for Genital Warts

Warticon Solution or Cream is a topical medication used to treat and eliminate genital warts in adults. It contains the active ingredient podophyllotoxin, which is a plant extract that works by killing the human papillomavirus (HPV),  the virus that causes genital warts.

It stops the virus from multiplying and spreading. When the virus can't multiply, it dies and new, healthy tissue grows instead.

Warticon is suitable for treatment on the external skin of the penis, vagina, or surrounding area of the groin. It should not be used internally and is not recommended for use around the anus.

Why  Warticon to treat genital warts?

  • Non-invasive treatment that does not require surgery or other medical procedures.
  • It is a relatively inexpensive treatment.
  • One of the most effective treatments for clearing genital warts in most people.
  • It is easy to use at home.

Genital warts

Genital warts are small, fleshy bumps that can appear on the genitals, anus, or inner thighs. They are caused by the HPV virus, which is a very common virus that can be transmitted through sexual contact (vaginal, anal, or oral sex, as well as by sharing sex toys).

How long does Warticon take to work?

Most people start to see results within a few weeks of using Warticon. However, it may take longer for some people to notice results.

If you follow the recommended course of treatment (two applications per day, 12 hours apart, for three consecutive days of each week), genital warts treated with Warticon should be fully eliminated within four to five weeks.

If you have not seen any improvement after four weeks of using Warticon Solution, talk to your doctor.

Is it safe and effective?

Warticon Solution or Cream is generally safe and one of the most effective treatments for genital warts. Because it targets the infection's root cause, not just the symptoms.

To get the best results from Warticon, follow your healthcare professional's instructions carefully. Warticon may take different amounts of time to work for different people, and no treatment is guaranteed to work for everyone.

How to use Warticon Solution

Warticon Solution is applied directly to the affected area using a dropper. The solution should be applied twice a day for three days in a row. After three days, stop treatment for four days. This cycle should be repeated for up to four weeks, or until the warts have cleared.

Warticon is not a suitable treatment for you if:

  • You are allergic to podophyllotoxin or any of the other ingredients
  • The skin around or covering your wart (or warts) is damaged, broken, or bleeding
  • You have warts covering an area greater than 4cm squared (around the size of a postage stamp)
  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding

While using Warticon, avoid:

  • Using the application on healthy skin
  • Getting the application in your eyes or mouth
  • Using the application on the inside of the vagina, penis, or rectum
  • Covering any treated areas with plasters or dressings

Side effects of Warticon Solution

The most common side effects of Warticon Solution are mild and go away on their own. These side effects can include:

  • Skin irritation
  • Burning
  • Itching
  • Redness
  • Swelling

Less common side effects can include:

  • Blisters
  • Pain
  • Bleeding
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea

If you experience any of these side effects, stop using Warticon Solution and contact your doctor.

Recommendations

Genital warts are caused by HPV, a virus that can be transmitted through sexual contact. Avoid sexual activity until treatment is completed to prevent spreading the virus to others.

Visit a doctor or sexual health clinic for examination and treatment.

Warticon cream may be prescribed to help combat the virus. Key symptoms of genital warts include itching, minor pain, and fleshy bumps or growths.

Wash all affected areas with soap and water, then dry with a towel. Dip the loop end of the applicator into the solution. Allow the solution to dry on the skin. Screw the lid back on and wash your hand thoroughly.

FAQ

  • Is Warticon Solution safe for pregnant women to use?

No, Warticon Solution is not safe for pregnant women. Podophyllotoxin can be absorbed into the bloodstream and can harm the developing fetus.

  • Is Warticon Solution safe for breastfeeding women to use?

It is not known whether Warticon Solution is safe for breastfeeding women to use. Podophyllotoxin may be excreted in breast milk and could harm the nursing infant. If you are breastfeeding, talk to your doctor before using Warticon Solution.

  • Can I use Warticon Solution on my face?

No, Warticon Solution should not be used on the face. It is only intended for use on the genitals, anus, and inner thighs.

  • How can you recognize genital warts?

External genital warts are noticed by examining the area visually or by touch. Genital warts often appear as small, flesh-colored growths or bumps in the genital or anal area.

They can be single or in clusters, flat or raised. While they are usually painless, they may cause itching or discomfort. If you suspect you have genital warts, seek medical advice for proper diagnosis and guidance.

  • What should my partner do if I have genital warts?

Your partner should visit their local sexual health clinic for an examination. You both should avoid sexual contact until both of your cases of genital warts have cleared up. If that's not possible, use a condom to reduce the risk of transmission.

  • Can HPV and genital warts be fully cured?

Unfortunately, there is no cure for HPV. Genital wart treatment removes the external warts but it does not kill the HPV virus. HPV can stay inactive and return later, but it doesn't always come back.

  • Can I get pregnant if I have HPV and genital warts?

Genital warts very rarely cause complications during pregnancy, however, the size and number of warts can grow. If you have genital warts or think you may have been exposed to genital warts and you are or may be pregnant, you should see your GP for further advice and treatment.

  • How long does it take for genital warts to clear?

Warticon: Potent Topical Solution for Genital Warts. Fast-acting formula applied directly to affected areas, clearing genital warts in 4-5 weeks

With treatment, genital warts take approximately 3 months to go. However, this varies for individuals and some people may require more than one round of treatment.

It can take anywhere from a few months to a few years. Treatment can help to remove the warts faster, but it cannot cure the virus. If you have genital warts, it is important to see a doctor to discuss your treatment options.

Here are some factors that can affect how long it takes for genital warts to go away:

    • Your immune system
    • The type of HPV virus you have
    • The number and size of your warts
    • The location of your warts

If you are concerned about how long your genital warts will last, talk to your doctor.

  • Aldara vs Warticon

Aldara and Warticon are both topical treatments for genital warts, but they work in different ways. Aldara modifies the immune system to fight the HPV virus that causes genital warts.

This makes Aldara more effective at preventing the recurrence of genital warts, but it also takes longer to work, up to 16 weeks. Warticon, on the other hand, directly kills the HPV virus, so it can see results within four weeks. Warticon is also cheaper than Aldara.

  • Which treatment is right for you?

Talk to your doctor about which treatment is best for you. They can consider factors such as the severity of your warts, your budget, and your risk factors for recurrence.

  • What are the 3 most common symptoms of genital warts?

    1. Small, flesh-colored, or whitish bumps on the genitals or anus. These bumps may be smooth or have a bumpy texture, and they may be raised or flat.

    2. Itching or discomfort in the genital area.

    3. Bleeding after sexual intercourse.
  • What's the quickest way to remove genital warts?

The fastest way to remove genital warts is to consult a healthcare professional. They can recommend appropriate treatments like topical creams, freezing, laser therapy, or surgical removal, depending on the severity and location of the warts.

Self-treatment is not advisable, as it may lead to complications or ineffective results. Always seek professional medical advice.

  • What kills HPV genital warts?

Effective treatments for HPV genital warts include various medical interventions like topical creams, freezing, laser therapy, or surgical removal. Consult a healthcare professional to determine the most appropriate method for your specific case. Self-treatment is not recommended.

  • Is there any harm in not treating genital warts?

Leaving genital warts untreated is not advisable. While some warts may go away on their own, they can also persist, multiply, or grow larger. Additionally, they can be contagious and may lead to health complications. Talk to a doctor for the right diagnosis and treatment.

  • Can I use Vaseline to remove genital warts?

Vaseline (petroleum jelly) is not a recommended treatment for genital warts. It won't effectively remove or treat the warts. Talk to your healthcare professional for proper diagnosis and treatment options. Attempting to self-treat with substances like Vaseline can lead to ineffective results or complications.

  • Can I still have a healthy and satisfying sexual life if I have genital warts?

Having genital warts does not mean your life is over. Genital warts are a treatable condition, and many people experience successful treatment and live healthy, fulfilling lives.

It's essential to consult a healthcare professional for proper diagnosis, treatment, and guidance on managing and preventing future outbreaks. They can provide support and help you lead a normal life.

  • How long do genital warts usually last?

Some may clear up in a few weeks, while others may persist for several months or even years. It's essential to consult a healthcare professional for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment, as they can provide guidance based on your specific situation.

Around 80% of people with the virus that causes genital warts will clear the infection within 18–24 months, but it can take longer for some people. Here are some things that can affect how long genital warts last:

    • Your immune system
    • The type of HPV virus
    • The number and size of your warts
    • The location of your warts

If you have genital warts, it is important to see a doctor to discuss your treatment options. Treatment can help to remove the warts faster.
