It works through two main components:

The Libre 3 system has a little sensor that you put on the back of your upper arm. Applying it is easy with a one-piece applicator. The sensor checks your glucose levels in the fluid under your skin, using a tiny filament just below the skin surface.

What is MARD?

MARD, or Mean Absolute Relative Difference, is a way to check how well a device measures blood glucose levels. It looks at the average difference between what the device shows and the actual blood glucose levels, especially when they are normal to high.

A lower MARD is better because it means the device is closer to the real blood glucose levels. For example, on the first day of using the device, the MARD is 10% for adults and 10.7% for kids, showing that the device readings are quite close to actual blood glucose levels.

Throughout the time you wear the device, it continues to show really good accuracy. Almost all the readings (99.9%) fall within certain target zones (A and B), with a MARD of 9.2% for adults and 9.7% for kids. This means the device is consistently accurate during the entire wear period.

What's impressive is that this accuracy is achieved without needing to do finger prick calibrations or entering calibration codes. So, it's a convenient and accurate way to monitor glucose levels.
