If, after 16 weeks, the patient hasn't lost at least 5 percent of their starting weight, the doctor might stop giving them Mysimba.
Additionally, the doctor could recommend stopping Mysimba treatment if they are concerned about the patient's blood pressure increasing or other safety issues.
How does Mysimba work?

How should Mysimba tablets be taken?
Mysimba tablets are meant to be taken orally, which means they should be swallowed whole. Avoid crushing or cutting them. If necessary, use water to aid in swallowing.
This treatment should be taken in conjunction with a well-balanced, calorie controlled/nutritional diet. No more than 30% of your calories should come from fat and your diet should generally be rich in fruit and vegetables.
You need to ensure to keep good levels of hydration by drinking 8-11 cups of liquid per day (2.7L)

During the first 4 weeks of Mysimba treatment, the recommended dosage changes. Initially, one tablet is taken once a day. From week 4 onwards, the maintenance dose increases to two tablets twice a day.

Additionally, a higher proportion of Mysimba-treated patients achieved significant weight loss, with 28 to 42% achieving a 5% weight loss compared to 12 to 14% with placebo.
Furthermore, 13 to 22% of those taking Mysimba achieved at least a 10% reduction in weight, while only 5 to 6% of placebo-treated patients did so.
In another research with more intensive counseling, the weight loss was greater overall: 8.1% with Mysimba compared to 4.9% with placebo.
Here, 46% and 30% of Mysimba-treated patients achieved 5% and 10% weight reductions respectively, compared to 34% and 17% respectively with placebo.
Overall, the effectiveness of Mysimba over placebo was consistent across different methods of analysis, with greater benefits observed in patients who completed 56 weeks of treatment or who had already lost at least 5% of their original body weight by 4 months into the study. Sources
