Levonorgestrel is a type of emergency contraception known as the morning after pill. Levonorgestrel can be taken by a woman to help prevent pregnancy following unprotected sex.

Directions

The Levonorgestrel tablet should be taken as soon as possible after having unprotected sex, preferably the same day. However, Levonorgestrel can be taken up to 3 days after having sex. Ashcroft Pharmacy only supplies Levonorgestrel for future sexual activity. 

You can take Levonorgestrel during any part of your menstrual cycle. You can also take Levonorgestrel more than once during your cycle. However, this is not recommended as Levonorgestrel is not a regular form of contraception. 

If you vomit within 3 hours after taking Levonorgestrel, you will need to take another tablet as soon as possible.

Dosage

Take ONE tablet preferably within 12 hours, but no later than 72 hours, after unprotected sexual intercourse
