Amorolfine nail lacquer contains amorolfine, which is an antifungal medicine. It is a topical application used to treat fungal nail infections. It works by stopping the production of ergosterol, which is a chemical that causes nail infections. Amorolfine stops the fungus from growing and causes the cells to break down. The infection will clear as the nail grows out.
If there is no improvement after 3 months of using amorolfine, you should see your doctor.
Keep the nail lacquer away from eyes, ears and mucous membranes.
Do not use Amorolfine if you are:
- Pregnant or breastfeeding
- A child under the age of 18 years
- Experiencing destroyed or very damaged nail/s
You should speak to a doctor before using Amorolfine if any of the following apply to you:
- You suffer from diabetes
- You have poor blood circulation in your hands or feet
- You have an underactive immune system, for example, due to diseases such as HIV or treatment with medicines such as chemotherapy, immunosuppressants or high-dose corticosteroids.

Dosage
Prepare the nail by filing it down. Do not use the same nail file on healthy nails to prevent spreading the infection. Clean the nail surface using one of the provided swabs. Apply the nail lacquer evenly over the entire surface of the nail using the reusable applicator. Let the treated nail dry for 3 minutes. Use the same swab you used for cleaning your nails to clean the applicator. The applicator is reusable, however it is important to clean them.
Treatment should be continued until the infected nails have completely grown out and cleared. It should only be applied once or twice a week, as directed by your doctor.

Treatment should be continued until the infected nails have completely grown out and cleared, which is approximately 6 months for finger nails and 9-12 months for toenails.
Side Effects
Generally, there are not many side effects from amorolfine nail lacquer. A common side effect is a burning sensation in the area you are using it. However, not everyone will experience side effects. If you are worried about the side effects you are experiencing, you should contact your GP.
